Darwin Ambon - Cruising Yacht Association of the Northern Territory

Many magnificent trophies were donated to the race over the years by individuals and organisations in Darwin and Ambon.

The cessation of the Darwin Dili Yacht Race led CYANT members in search of other sailing destinations. Spearheaded by Bill Jelley, the Darwin to Ambon International Yacht Race was founded in 1976.

The 1998 Darwin Ambon Race had 50 participants.

The 1997 Darwin Ambon Race had 95 participants.

The 1996 Darwin Ambon Race had 77 participants.

The 1995 Darwin Ambon Race had 88 participants.

The 1994 Darwin Ambon Race had 78 participants. The race was followed by the fifth Makassar Regatta in South Sulawesi.

The 1993 Darwin Ambon Race had 68 participants.
This race was followed by the Makassar Regatta around the islands west of the South Sulawesi provincial capital Ujung Padang.
